Singer Sandara Park revealed the reason for leaving YG Entertainment after 17 years.
Sandara Park posted a post on his Instagram on the 17th, saying, “I came to Korea in 2004, where there is no place to rely on, and I want to leave YG who took care of me and taught me many things.”
Sandara Park said, “I had a dream-like time with so many experiences, wonderful members and full love from the stage. When 2NE1 was dismantled, everything seemed to collapse,” he said. “For the next five years, I challenged various genres with the mindset of’Let’s start over from scratch!’. Those five years have become a big asset to me and have made me feel positive now.”
However, Sandara Park left his agency with the goal of becoming a singer. He said, “My wish has always been me on the stage. “Because it is my dream that has never changed since my second year in elementary school, as a reward for my blackjacks and valuable fans who have always loved and supported me without change.”
“In a way, the third act of my life, which can be a challenge rather than a stable appearance, is more exciting than ever. People, affection, and time together are more important to me than anything else. Breaking up is always the most difficult thing, but I make big decisions for my dream and for those who have been waiting for that dream.” He specifically mentioned the reason for leaving the agency.
Finally, Sandara Park also revealed his will for 2NE1 reunion. He said, “I hope that I will continue to be active in various ways and I pray that someday we will do it separately or together.
Sandara Park debuted in the celebrity bond program of ABS-CBN’Star Circle Quest’ in 2004, and debuted with CL and Minji Gong in 2009 with 2NE1. 2NE1 debuted in 2009 and received great love for hit songs such as’I Don’t Care’,’I’m the Best’,’Fire’ and’Lollipop’, but announced its dissolution in 2016.

When I came to Korea in 2004, where I have no place to rely, I’m a family, my hometown, my home and my sense of stability, who took care of me and taught me a lot.
It’s been 17 years since I just saw the hips of cool seniors and fell in love with them, and the idea that I could be a member of the family, not just colleagues, called YG Family.
Too many experiences, wonderful members and even the stage! We lived in dreamlike days with overflowing love.
When 2NE1 was disbanded, everything seemed to collapse.
However, for 5 years after that, I challenged various genres with the mindset of let’s start over from the beginning!, and if I think about it now, those 5 years have become a huge asset to me and have made me a positive figure.
However, the wind inside me has always been how I am on stage. It is because showing that image is a reward for my blackjacks who have always loved and supported me, and for my precious fans, and it is my dream that has never changed since I was in the second grade of elementary school until now.
So, in a way, the third act of my life, which can be a challenge rather than a stable appearance, is more exciting than ever.
People, affection, and time together are more important to me than anything else. Breaking up is always the hardest thing for me. Nevertheless, I make a big decision for the dream I want and for those who have been waiting for that dream.
Lastly, I want to see my dear 2NE1 members who I really want to see, and I hope that they will continue to be active in various ways, and I pray that someday they will be together separately or together. Congratulations on the 12th anniversary~!!
