The Netflix original series “Squid Game” was nominated for a Golden Globe Awards in the United States.
“Squid Game” was nominated for three categories in the “79th Golden Globe” nominations.
First, “Squid Game” was nominated for Best Drama. It is the first time for a Korean drama to be nominated for a Golden Globe Awards.
Lee Jung-jae was nominated for the Best Actor and Oh Young-soo was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor.
Lee Jung-jae received the spotlight as a world star by being nominated for the Golden Glove Award in the United States following the Best Actor Award (Best Actor in a Drama) at the 27th Critics’ Choice Awards.
In addition, ‘Squid Game’ won the trophy in the ‘breakthrough 40-minute long series’ category at the Gotham Awards held on the 29th of last month. At the ‘AFI Awards 2021’, it won the TV Program Special Award.
Meanwhile, the American Golden Globe Awards are hosted by the Hollywood Foreign Correspondents Association and held annually in Los Angeles, USA. The 79th Golden Globe Awards will be held on January 9, 2022.
